About Me

I am a sometimes-writer, everyday mama, creative failure and experimental cook. I am interested in living a beautiful life, spending time with my family and making things that I can feel proud of. When I'm by myself I'm usually outside. Don't bother calling because chances are that I didn't bring my cell phone because I couldn't find it. If you see me walking, it's because I lost my keys and if you see me with only one child... I'm probably in big trouble.

Avocado Tree Update!

Things are going quite well for my avocado tree!  I posted three weeks or so back about my efforts and failure to grow a tree from a seed.

Finally, it's happening!

The small green speck in the crack of the seed is actually the top of a tree stem that is coming from the center of the seed and pushing out.  Each morning I see it grow a little bit stronger and reach a little bit higher!
And look at the difference in this root!!!!!

In three weeks it has probably tripled in size.

At this rate, I should have avocados by the time my girls are in medical school!
