About Me

I am a sometimes-writer, everyday mama, creative failure and experimental cook. I am interested in living a beautiful life, spending time with my family and making things that I can feel proud of. When I'm by myself I'm usually outside. Don't bother calling because chances are that I didn't bring my cell phone because I couldn't find it. If you see me walking, it's because I lost my keys and if you see me with only one child... I'm probably in big trouble.

A Peace Offering

The nasty orange squirrels who live in our trees basically chuck full oranges at my children and pets.  I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't witnessed it with my own eyes.  As it turns out, squirrels are quite smart and very mean as well.  This morning, Lila was strolling her baby carriage along our walkway and when she got under the tree, BAM, down came a nice, ripe orange followed by the sound of maniacal laughter and scampering feet.

This afternoon I found this by the tree.

In case you can't read her writing, this says "To my squirrel friend.  Thank you for the orange."  And then it says, "For you" with an arrow pointing to another orange and she also offers a cherry.

Leave it to Lila.  She can put a positive spin on just about anything.
