About Me

I am a sometimes-writer, everyday mama, creative failure and experimental cook. I am interested in living a beautiful life, spending time with my family and making things that I can feel proud of. When I'm by myself I'm usually outside. Don't bother calling because chances are that I didn't bring my cell phone because I couldn't find it. If you see me walking, it's because I lost my keys and if you see me with only one child... I'm probably in big trouble.

The World's Greatest Pet- Day 1

Well, we're still in STEP 1 (water purification), but hopefully by the time I go to sleep tomorrow night we'll have a little tank full of sea monkeys!

Bunny has been begging for all of the following: a pet turtle, a pet frog, a pet snake and a pet fish. Today, we duped the poor thing and headed out to the toy store for a little tank full of hope and potential life, with the desire of turning it into a small colony of aquatic friends.

I'll let you know how it goes. Expect a daily update (unless nothing hatches. In that case, expect tears... and pictures of our new pet frog).

Tonight I am doing the only thing that I want to do. I am sitting on a couch with my husband, watching mindless comedy and drinking wine. Tomorrow I work 10 hours.

  1. I remember seeing ads for Sea Monkeys in the back of comic books when I was growing up, and BEGGING my parents to get them for me. We were dirt poor, so they never did.

Can't wait to see how they turn out!

  2. I always badly wanted them as well, but my parents never let me get them. I think that my mom thought that they were disgusting.

I ended up getting a little tank several years ago and naming each little monkey that hatched. They're so cute!!! One day my cat knocked the tank over and all of the little money's died.

  3. i kind of remember trying this and having it not work, but i don't really know. hope this works out! xoxoxo

  4. The sea monkey's have hatched! I fed them their first meal last night. They are tiny. When they are bigger I'll take pics of them and put them up!
